As part of our celebrations for the above, we held a “Right Royal Quiz” at the Crown & Cushion on the Friday. Organised by our Poppy Appeal Organiser, Carol Peachey, a very good turn out made for a great evening with some testing questions set by Carol. Our vice chairman put in a sparkling if somewhat bizarre performance as a quiz master, as sort of cross between Les Dawson and Larry Grayson.

the event, which included a raffle, raised over £400 for our Poppy Appeal. Thanks go to all those who participated and to Carol and Peter for all their hard work.

The Town’s Jubilee celebrations were centred around the Town Festival, and the Branch launched the day with a parade through the town, ending at the Town Hall. Taking part were members and veterans, 136 Squadron (Chipping Norton) Air Training Corps and we were led by the Shires Youth Band. Again thanks for all who attended and a mention in dispatches for all our volunteer marshals, without whom the parade who have not gone ahead.

Some of our less mobile veterans and their families were outside the Crown & Cushion Hotel and took the salute as we passed.
